It started pouring rain on us (Ft. Yates) yesterday around 6:30. On the news the radar showed it mostly north, but that big storm formed up a tail/band of showers right on top of us. It wasn't very wide, but it was long, and we were right in its path for hours. My gauge was at 7" by 10pm!!!! It rained steady all night and my gauge had another 1.75" by morning. HWY 1806 south of town washed out by the state line, and two people are missing!

Sad deal...I assume those people drove into that washout early this morning while it was still dark.

I'm not sure what we got last night, but it came down in sheets. Then it rained this morning starting around 6 and didn't let up until almost noon.

Basement flooded. Again. Spent six hours tearing out carpet and cutting sheetrock.

Guess mama gets that sewing room remodel sooner than expected!

The article is a little confusing. It says two were rescued, were those the two people that were missing or is there still people missing?

that last aerial photo before the washout concerns me, depending on how early that photo was taken, as in the road should have already been closed with the culvert already showing damage. idk, prayers to all involved

that culvert has been showing for along time. I am pretty sure that it was going to be replaced here in the next month.

Two still missing I believe, and two were rescued. I think. There's usually not much water in that creek.

I was watching the radar last night and almost thought the radar quit working. The heavy rain seemed to be stuck down there. Crazy how mother nature can be.

Both bodies have been recovered. Just some people trying to get to work. Prayers to families.
