I note no comments positive or negative with the above post. It edifies my beliefs in viral vaccines.

I saw the post you quoted but didn’t want to comment on it. I just don’t have the energy for a pissing match. You talked me into it though...sort of. I actually agree with a small part of that post but a lot of it had holes shot through it by its own contradictions before it was posted.

Vaccines CAN BE very effective. Some are much more refined and selective than others. Many are extremely efficient and some vaccines are so effective that they have eradicated diseases...diseases caused by highly contagious, extremely aggressive viruses. They have eradicated these diseases by creating individual and group immunity. I guess I don’t need a dictionary to tell me what a vaccine can or can’t do; what is or isn’t a vaccine or how they work. I know what they can do and have done.

That being said, we certainly don’t have a lot of hind sight or time tested data to draw on with the current COVID vaccines so they are still very much experimental. We know less about these than anything that most of us have ever put in our bodies, but there are dozens of COVID vaccines being researched right now. It is far from unrealistic to say that one of them might likely be highly efficient in PROVIDING IMMUNITY against some or most of the variants we hear about. It’s also very possible that some of them will flop or turn out to be less safe or effective than acceptable. Time will tell but you can’t make time go any faster than one second after the next. I’d have a lot more faith in them if I had any sense of trust whatsoever in some of those pushing for it and if we had a few more years of research behind us, but I’m still crossing my fingers that a year from now the outcome from this mass vaccination push is a positive one.

However, to take a stance against all vaccines because of COVID would be a prime example in poor judgement. If you ever have the misfortune of seeing a bad case of tetanus or measles, you will have a profound understanding of the value of a vaccine. To the folks who have had COVID and got through it or maybe didn’t even know they had it, this vaccine thing seems crazy I suppose. To those who went through hell with it, lost a loved one to it, or didn’t survive it - the urgency of an effective vaccine is (or was) very real.

My final thought is that we should definitely not be trading in a real, thorough consent process for each individual for a breakneck pace to whatever unknown we are heading towards. If I would have used the, “Don’t worry, it’s safe and we need you to do this” method on any of my research studies I’d have been thrown in jail a long time ago. It scares me that somehow that is acceptable now because I knew a lot more about those study drugs and vaccines than I do this one. It also disgusts me that we shame the shit out of each other for being reluctant to put something in our body that we can’t even inform ourselves about. What’s is missing in this whole process for me is the feeling that there is some transparency and honesty.

Well thought out reply, Dirty. The last sentence sums it up for me. There is no longer any honesty in reporting nor a search for it. Lying has become acceptable if it justifies the means.

I believe in nature and god ---- If you go back to my original thoughts on the virus they have not changed. From day one I said (and my 85 year old dad) said do not shut down keep living and we were correct imo. Every person i know that told someone to shut down, wear a mask, worked from home, bitched about the bars being open, karened over and over -- every one of those people got the virus. I cant think of one that didnt -- even on this website. Now I hear the same bullshit I am not going to take the shot because i already had it or that it is going to have some effect on my body bs. . I dont care if it works or kills me or i have some issue down the road - i am willing to give the shirt off my back to anyone that needs it. I will take the bullet if it helps some older person not get it or any kid down the road or if it will help some older person get out of the home. I am not a mehole I will take it after those who need it or want it first.

Great if it does help. Supposedly it teaches your immune system to recognize the virus and fight it. If your immune system is altered will you be more susceptible to more common viruses a year later, two years later, forever? At this point there are more questions than answers, but Im scheduled to take the firsf shot this Tuesday. Some say they are willing to risk their life if it helps others. What if it didnt kill you, but turned you into a drooling idiot the rest of your life? Like China Joe and Pelosi. :D

For me personally i said i would not take it if i had the choice.
But things changed for me when my bride got sick with this cancer ordeal and they highly suggested that i take the shot as she will be having enough going on and doesn't need to be exposed to the Chinese Virus. So yesterday i went in and got my first shot and it was the Moderna vaccine. I do not want to put her in any more harm than she already is in, so the choice for me was easy.
Wouldn't and won't push it on anyone else as i feel that is ones personal choice.

BBJ,
Smart choice. In your shoes I would do the same. Again, good luck with everything and hang in there with your wife and for your wife.
I have enjoyed reading about the bond you both obviously have; very refreshing to hear about such a strong relationship. I’m sure it will now be even stronger.

Australian medical professionals and researchers are now demanding that China become more transparent regarding covid and the Wuhan class 4 Virology lab. In return China placed tariffs and sanctions on agricultural products and other commodity goods, which account for over 33% percent of Australia's exports.

Reading this article the writers says, "this confrontation lets China send signals of its power to other global economies. Will the Biden administration develop strategies with other nations to place pressure on China to neutralize these strong arm tactics?"

China Joe putting us back into the World Health Organization was a gift to the Chicoms.

In 2014 American scientists petitioned Obama to stop laboratories toying around with these bio weapons. Dr. Fauci at National Institute of Health then took millions of your taxpayer dollars and the research to Wuhan.

No one will ever know what happened at Wuhan. Ever.....

I worked at Coteau for 28 years. Tore up great swaths of land seeking 15 million tons a year of the fossil fuel. There-by sending millions of pounds of soot, CO2 and carbon into the atmosphere. Now I have guilt.

soot, CO2, and carbon are quintessential to our crops, trees, and the very atmosphere we need to survive, you should more so feel the honor of being a hero.

Yes it was sarcasm. All ground is reclaimed, the soot and sulfur are scrubbed, the CO2 is captured, put in a pipeline and then it goes into the ground at well head A to push more oil out well head B.

Me with 517 Kress Haul Truck
Hauls three hundred ton of coal
1900 horse Caterpillar Engine
Top end is 45 miles per hour
Eight speed automatic transmission
Engine is mounted in backwards above the differential.
With the engine mounted in the back the cab was very quiet.
A computer screen tells the operator everything that motor is doing.
The truck rides on four struts. Oil pressure is let out or pressured up determined by weight.

I retired from the mine when I turned 55. It was a great place to work and lucky me I got in ground floor start up 1984. When coal was cool.

Another thing, Coteau workers are essential and when this covid arrived a year ago they made a lot of sacrifices to make sure they were at work safely.

Because of covid, awhile back Governor Burgum placed restrictions on business's such as bars had to close at 10 o'clock with limited capacities. Rep. Rick Becker owns a bar and refused to close at ten. The police showed up and Rep. Becker informed them the Gov doesn't have the authority.

Rep. Becker introduced House Bill 1386. The committee hearing recommended a do not pass. However, he did a very good job during the floor session and won. The video is here. Scroll to 1:22:54

A bill to rein in overzealous bureaucrats such as what happened at Bravery Brewery.

Rep. Rick Becker should be our next Governor.

Further into the floor session is Daylight Savings Time. Scroll to 1:40:35
