So this is an argument we had in our deer camp several times.
What is everyone's thoughts on taking a doe who has a fawn with her. Some will argue that if the fawn no longer has spots that it will survive the winter and be just fine without mom. Spots or no spots on the fawn, I will not take that doe. ND winters are tough and I'm sure that fawn learns a lot that first winter would be willing to bet the fawn survival rate is higher with mom around. I have no evidence to support my argument however. Thoughts?
