Some places, like Scheels, are a good place to bring a dog because the stores welcome them. Svn makes a good point. I do enjoy saying "hello" to people's dogs.

I'm in the extreme minority. This is my favorite version of Deep Purple even with the repeated first verse of "Smoke On the Water"... It had the most talent as a BAND IMHO. Tommy Bolin was a fine guitarist. Drugs/bad/dead. Blackmore enjoys being a tool to this day and prancing about like a fairy. JohnR, I completely agree with you. People feel entitled to bring their dogs everywhere. I get it. They love their dogs. "ahh, lookit little poopsie.."

I like dogs too, but I don't need them in the restaurant, grocery store, etc. I guess I feel if an establishment says "No shirt, no shoes, no service", then dogs should be left home (with the obvious caveat regarding legit service dogs). Don't even get me started on the other service animals. Turkeys, iguanas, chickens, gerbils (well, MAYBE gerbils).

However, you old grump, I have to say this. Many times I've heard your replies/comments come in the flavor of "ahh, live and let live, life isn't neat, get over it".

I guess maybe if the dog wore a shirt and shoes...

Dogs in a grocery store, or retail non pet store, or anywhere that seems unusual, made me think if the establishment does not have a specific sign on the door, does that mean anything goes?
Menards doesn't say I cant deuce in the nail isle, or that I cant spit my seeds on the floor, so that must mean I can.

I also really dislike my friends with little lap house dogs bringing them to my home...but allow it, cause..."ahh, live and let live, life isn't neat, get over it".:;:rockit

guessing most guys on here would have the common courtesy to not bring their dogs into shopping centers, but for those of you that would, let me know why I am wrong in thinking its inappropriate.

How about the "rules are only for other people" crowd ? My Son gets a room at a nice hotel for a couple, they show up and sneak their dog in the room and to top it off after the family event was over they decided to go to the bar for the night. Son gets a call about midnight that his dog is barking, He said I don't have a dog. Then it hit him what had happened. He lost his discount at hotel and dog owners didn't think it was a big deal, they all wagged their tails all the way home.
Along with pet ownership comes a little responsibility, It's just not there in some cases.
