Brother has a Drotto, as well as a few other friends. They do work well. REALLY handy when by yourself. Back down into the water how deep u want, start the motor go to the front of the boat, release with the latch and easy peasy. Takes a little time to get it set just right for the boat and eye, but once you do I believe you would like. The people I know that have them have no complaints.

I absolutely love my drotto. In my opinion the best 225$ I’ve ever spent on my boat. If it were to fail tomorrow I would have a new one coming before I even took it off the boat. I unlatch everything at the top. Climb in. Wife backs me in until I’m floating. Walk up front. Hit lever to release. By the time I am back to the helm I’m usually off the trailer and the wife is pulling out. When loading. She backs in until I stop her, power up into the drotto and she is pulling out when she feels the click. Usually the fastest couple, including buddies into and out of the water. Even with it being her first year backing me in.

x3 on the Drotto - as Bauer said best money spent on my boat. That said, it's not going to do anything to help align the boat on the trailer, so if that's you're main problem maybe the other system is the way to go. I'm guessing a little practice will fix most of your problem though.

I've been debating the drotto on the new trailer, don't see a need for the bullseye thing if you have a bunk trailer, even in the wind with some practice you should be able to get it on

I have had the drotto on my trailer for two years and love it. I have a roller trailer with and a Tyee that I can not reach the bow eye to hook up the strap by reaching down like I could on my old boat. I fish by myself about 75% of the time. This thing is worth its weight in gold IMO.

Ever have problems loading on steep ramps? Since the stern is floating, the bow will hit the front stop too low. If you keep the trailer out of the water far enough to keep the bow up, she doesn't want to power on. Wife and I communicate with walkie talkies and she has to slowly back in the water farther while I keep trying to power the rest of the way onto the trailer. Learning!

On a roller I would think they would be a must have.
On my bunk I'm always unhooked before Im backed down. And when I load I just drive on up to the roller leave it in gear as they pull out and shut it down as she sits on the bunks and pull away.

Another vote for the Drotto! I have one on my boat & love it. No more jumping in & out of the boat to hook up the winch strap.

I found a used Drotto for my old man about a year ago. He has a Tyee that is also almost impossible to reach the bow eye from inside the boat. The Drotto fights with the Trailer Valet as the best investment he has made for his boat.
