Duel Helix 10 Transducers

My electrical engineer brother in law had me buy a second transducer and a Y cable to link two transducers into one single sonar unit.

One transducer will read one side imaging of the boat clear but the boat motor obscures the other side of the side imaging. He claims by connecting two ducers with the Y cable, that the helix will know how to gather more information to clear up the imaging of both sides. Am I understanding him right? Is this a thing?

Have seen a lot of people do that on YouTube not exactly sure how they do it but I am sure lots of videos out there on it

I am a believer in trying to find the answer first before asking but my searches came back with too many unrelated results.

Thankyou, that video was the confirmation I was looking for. When I had my boat at Moritz Marina in Bismarck, the techs didn't think the helix 10 could do that. I can mount it myself though.

Trimming the motor up just a little bit will solve this 99% of the time.

Trimming up helps alot, but there is still some blockage and then having to trim back down to take off. Ive been told it makes the image much clearer even with motor trimmed.

Is your transducer mounted to far off to one side?
