While deerhunting, I carry my bow with quiver and arrows and very seldom binoculars.
I figger if I kill a deer, I'm gonna walk back to the truck and put my bow away anyway. Then I'll bring a knife , and go back, gut the deer and drag it out.
Kinda drives me nuts seeing people wearing a backpack to their treestands ( pre setup) and only walking in a short ways from where the parked.

I absolutely love this topic.

Gets my mind thinking about Bug-Out Bags. What could you stash in a bag that would keep you alive as long as possible but also at a moment's notice?

I think there are a gazillion articles and forums dedicated to Bug-Out Bags and prepping. I think as I get older, there's wisdom in all of it as you go about your hunts.

Less is more -- but only if what you have works when you need it.
I like having off the wall conversations. Allows everyone to bring their own perspective to such a simple topic

I have them and baby wipes in all 3 of my vehicle. Never leave home without them. My biggest bitch is they freeze in the winter and become useless.
Under one of the front seats but behind one of the HVAC outlets should keep them warm enough to use most of the time…

If out walking around, I have a pocket knife, and clean underwear on...

The clean underwear is a game changer

You’re making the assumption that starting w/clean underwear automatically means returning w/clean underwear. Considering the source of the initial comment, that assumption seems tenuous at best….

While “anything” archery hunting my quiver is the smallest backpack style “Cat-Quiver” made. Doesn’t matter if I’m afoot stalking, sitting in a ground blind, or a tree-stand.

I’ve got a thermocell clipped on, just enough room for 1 bottle of water, a knife, my tag, couple-3 sets of nitrile gloves, an extra bottle of thermo-fuel and a pad or 2, and a few zip ties.
