My god could a guy get into some heated fights with a farmer on this one.

I struggle with that. On my way out to do some coyote hunting last week, I saw two that I could of whacked from the road. This land is clearly posted. Would the landowners have minded? Probably not. But, its still not my property and they have never met me. Had to let the 'yotes pass until another day.

If road has been considered a low maintenance road and goes around a lake, Slough, or tree it is still legal to drive around such obstacles. County has set up a special easement to allow public access. All section lines are open to travel within the 66' corridor, 33' left and right of the center of section line, but must not deviate outside of that corridor. So if your going down a two track trail on the section line and it goes out and around a slough, tree, rock pile, anything, and there's been a trail there for years if you leave the sec. line you are off trail. Also a well worn trail across a hay field or pasture is NOT an established trail, its an agriculture trail not for public use even if the land is not posted
Good for you. I dont struggle with it even a little bit.

That would have been quite the long con but no. Why do you ask?

Apparently this was offensive enough for some spineless pansy to leave an unsigned bad reputation mark and call me a dumbass. Can anyone provide some context?

So how about a prairie road that has been around for 60 years, and all of a sudden half way down it, the rest of the road has been dug up by farmers. Whats the deal there? Turn around or keep on a truckin? I mean, as long as it's not planted of course.
So I called a game warden because this was just all way to confusing for me. The understanding I am going with is that, assuming you don't own the land, you are only allowed to travel down sections lines. There is no law that allows me to travel down a non-section line trail, established or otherwise, on land I do not own.
