does the Northern still have a buffet???

Wednesdays was the pasta buffet that we had our business "meetings" at.

If i wanted to be guaranteed an amazing steak i would for sure go to Kobes. Its chinese or oriental or whatever but its hands down the best steak ive consistently had at a restaurant. All other suggestions you really cant go wrong with either

This sounds like it might be the place

If you want anything to taste good go to the Cork and Cleaver and have about 4 martinis before your meal.

Wurst Bier Hall down town or West Fargo. Love their sweet potato fries. Lots of beer choices and brats. But I might be a litte bias sence I am full blood kraut. Lots of other German side dishes too.

I can recall a million years ago when i was a young lad and the universe was not over run with fast food joints and c-stores were few and far inbetween, it was a real treat to head into the big town of Grand Forks and get a bite to eat at the only McDonald's for miles. Those Big Mac's sure did taste good back in the day.

Same here - once every couple months we headed for McD's in Bismarck. The Big Mac was a major deal.

Same with root beer at A&Ws.

I don't want to seem like a "steak snob", buuuuuut I won't order a steak off of anyone's menu.

If I can't cook it myself, I don't want it. That way I pick the steak, I prep the steak and most importantly, I cook the steak. I've been disappointed WAY too many times at just about every "steak house" I've visited.

I think Osaka is better than Kobes, but both outstanding. Raspberry glazed ribs at spitfire, totally awesome.

Anyone remember the Blue Buffalo in Aberdeen, SD? That spot was the shiz back in the day. I remember getting the little plastic toy blue buffaloes at the front counter as a kid....this post will age me.

I was thinking this, but kept my mouth shut....Plus, I eat steak quite a bit at home. When I go to the "big city" I like to get something I can't get at home so it's usually Izumi sushi, Blarney Stone, 3 Lyons Pub, Wurst Bier Hall, shit like that.

Don't forget about breakfast the next morning... the Shack on north broadway is fargo's equivalent to little cottage in Bismarck.

For something interesting - get the scotch eggs at the Boiler Room downtown. They've got steaks and burgers too... but one could load up on the scotch eggs and call it a meal. They've got all the beers you could think of too.

My other go to in fargo is Old Chicago. Good beer and pizza selections.

We are a lot like that, I really am more than my wife. Now days it is getting hard to find something we don't or I won't try to make at home which lots times came from eating out and many times my wife tends to challenge me to make it and do it better. My latest is chicken marsala which is completely new to me.

I have heard that true Blue social club has an excellent steak.

It's super expensive, though.

I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But wouldn't you rather take his word for it? No, what I mean is, you can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's ass...no wait, it has to be your bull

Wurst beir hall, porter creek, spitfire, doolittles, texas roadhouse in that order (unless you only want steak then Texas RH is #1 for me).

Duanes House of Pizza has dropped 85% in my opinion from the 6 years i left fargo. Lot of options.
