Message: <blockquote data-quote="gst" data-source="post: 25777" data-attributes="member: 373">I just thought this was an interesting explaination of what occurred. <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" />  Yep it was all those "other" guys that killed FBO. <img src="http://temp.fishingbuddy.com/sites/default/files/styles/thumbnail/public/photos/user_avatar/705e31b5404a76f7745fbb79acb01cee.jpg?itok=qA43-1oB" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />bobkatOfflineJoined: Sunday, December 16, 2001 - 12:00amUNFORTUNATELY CLEANING UP THEUnfortunately cleaning up the bad language and nastiness and deliberate rule breaking coincided with the new format adopted at the same time.   There is always the " " grass is greener " thing whenever a new business or website is started, and I wish the new owners success in their new endeavor.  It takes skill, daring, money and a lot of luck to do a successful website these days, so more power to them.One could argue that there should have been more warnings about getting the boot if clear posted rules were repeatedly  and knowingly broken.   But then how many warnings do some need.  Yes, some of the people who left the website either voluntarily of were expulsion were good guys, knowledgable in their respected outdoor interests, but interestingly a LOT of the same guys ( I know a lot of,them personally, too)  put in post after post yelling about people not following rules or laws, and parents NOT teaching kids to NOT break  rules even if you didn't agree with them, and post after post emphasized teaching kids that if they voluntarily deliberately broke rules they had better suffer the consequence themselves!  Yet the swear words, Internet stalking, girly pictures continued, and SURPRISE, then push finally came to shove, not only did a few defiant perpetrators get TEMPORARILY blocked, but their funds and buddies left, Eric.  Their choice, but I guess I'l simply too old and conservative to understand this seemingly dual standard rather schizophrenic view of what's right or wrong these days.   Everybody seems to want the other guy to follow rules, but everybody wants to bend em, break em, in defiance of any authority nowadays.  One thing I don't miss is childish nonsense like being called a Liberal Commie no matter what the topic,  or no matter what the viewpoint.   Rarely does anyone ever get their mind changed on blog sites, BUT often reading and seeing what some other guy is thinking can be net resting and yes, sometimes ducational. Yet how many times have we seen blogs suggesting dissenters Bing boots, etc. because thy dared post something controversial and possibly educational. Th name BOKO HAREM means something like " Don with science and education, especially western science and education, but I was not aware so many on so called PRO outdoor websites were unofficial members, though few on outdoow websites likely have black skin!  Yes, over the years I've had several friends and acquaintances leave FBO because they refused to post anything any more, knowing the first following post would follow with "BULL CRAp" or the Liberal Commi name calling.  I keep wishing some would come back as they were VERY pro outdoor people, very knowledgable in their fields and often had good constructive posts.  Heck, I should shut up now, but it got so bad that some of us didn't care to post pictures for various reasons.  Fairly recently I noticed on Facebook a picture that I HAD TAKEN of a really pleasant ending to a father son hunt several years ago!  The cutn pasted picture though was to inflame a group of ex FBO haters and ridicule and disparage the guy in the picture!!!!  Now why do people do that kind of,thing?  What kind of people do we/ did we have on here!?? And yo,,they loudly proclaim themselves hard core deputy " Chistians!"  Give me a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist any day! Anyway, I check NodakAngler and Nodakoutdoors and FBO every once in a whil.  Scared to post on Nodakoutdoors, but do find interesting pretty good discussions on the others now.  Far less nsness, good discussion in spite of disagreements, following the FBO Purge!  Not that this old fool knows anything, but to the owners and moderators of new outdoor websites, keep it clean, start early  enough so defiance and nastiness is not allowed to slide till too late, as happened  IMO with FBO!  Once John Arman and co got out, it began its progressive slippery slope.   Like the beginning of a graveyard spiral/ spin in a small aircraft!  Small corrections are all that would have been required. Like the early correction of an aircraft graveyard spiral!</blockquote>
