KOA campground at Devil's Tower is AWESOME!

Nearer to ND, I really like being able to overlook the Apple Creek area SE of Bismarck. Quite the show coming out of all those rural sub-developments.

Indeed. Was interesting last December 31st as well, watching them reflecting off snow.

We go to my Grandmas in Mandan every year. It's nonstop fireworks in every direction untill about 1am. The smoke along the interstate driveing home every year is amazing you'd think half the city burnt down.

A fewvery good spots around Bis-Man are the rest stop scenic view area on the south side of I-94 south of the old seven sees one can see all of Bis-mans fireworks rodeo and capitol and a lot of private. Another good spot is from Fox island on the Missouri river one can see the capitol and rodeo fireworks from one spot there too or north of Misty waters on the river lots of folks put on a show that can easily rival the Mandan rodeo and capitol show and then some when one adds them all together in that mile long stretch.

I have watched the show from all of those spots a couple times at least from each.

Hoge island out on the sandbars. Nice spot to have a campfire and watch as eight gerjillion dollars worth of black powder goes off from hundreds of differnt spots.

It has traditionally been the night of the 4th. I don't know what other events they have in town, but a demo derby could be fun!!! Now I have to check into the rest of the events in Sanborn. Maybe we will spend the whole day there.

Four or five years ago I got a good buy on some big stuff, the kind you load in a tube. Well the fourth was a bust, super hot and bugs that would carry you away. stuff got put away in garage and forgot about. Come new-years eve I thought what the hell, dug the stuff out and set up lawn chair for wife with plenty of sleeping bags to keep her warm. We live in the country so not to bother anyone. Nice snow cover and real still night. Set every thing up in driveway, did I mention about 10 below out. Now we have a good population of yotes around our place, every time the train passes, its about a mile away, those yotes really put on the song, must be squeaky wheels. Took me about maybe an hour or so to shoot off all the stuff. We must have put the fear of God in them cause you never heard them again for a month and not even any tracks with in a mile of the place. I always wondered what went through their minds.

I would be in the area on Monday night doing just that if I did not have to get up so dam early for work the next morning. But I will be in that area the rest of the weekend pleasure boating on the pontoon with family.

Lincoln, ND!!! Its friggen unbelievable what goes on out there on the fourth. Compared to Mandan there is no comparison. I think every person in Bismarck goes out there to light their fireworks.
