Did you end up using any of your special fish juice this year? Curious to know if the great nodakangler science experiment lives on?
I did move my 300 gallon totes closer to my rock piles, away from the road. I had them setting in my tree rows which is closer to my neighbors houses and I was afraid they might rupture and stink the place up and possibly kill the trees that are close. It was a little sketchy moving them as one is FULL and heavy, the skidder I had struggled to lift it but I got it done.... Havent used my fish juice yet, but Im guessing it will keep, might even improve with age, like a fine wine!

I did start a new batch with my recently caught pike, in a 5 gallon bucket. Just for something to do.

What do you plan to do with 300 gallons of it? Sell it possibly?

Probably what Ill do is open the valve and lift it with a skidder and drive along my tree rows to give them a boost at some point. My soil is low in N and P according to tests ive done, so it wont hurt to give them a boost once they get a little bigger... I could also figure out a way to strain it and use it as a foliar spray for some of my berry bushes, but not sure if Im motivated enough to handle it more than necessary... havent really decided yet.

How'd the bucket experience go? Can't imagine the smell when you cracked that lid or did it blow off from the bacteria buildup?🤮

Ive got a bucket of fish soup outside in my shed actually, I forgot about it till this spring when I set something on the lid that was kinda heavy and it started to leak out, its kinda rank, I should dump a bit on my rhubarb to see how they react, im sure they would like it, afraid my dog might roll in it though, that wouldnt be fun to deal with.

Stirred my fish slurry. all that's left is little bone pieces. I added a couple shots of phosphoric acid to see if that breaks down the bones a little more. The skin and everything else seems pretty much gone... I put a couple cups of it on each of my rhubarb plants to see how they respond. It has barely any smell which is amazing. gotta get my nose close to the stick and even then, when I smell it, I wouldnt immediately associate it with a fish smell, its odd, but not like eww.
