I am moving to Fargo this summer from AZ. Before moving to this God forsaken wasteland (20 years here) I lived most of my life in the Pacific Northwest/Alaska and was an avid fisherman. When the weather permits, I would like to get back into fishing before age sneaks up on me. Are there areas to fish within city limits? Anything on the northeast side? I'd really like to get back into carp fishing again. I'm retired now so I can get the hell away from this brutal heat. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

The Red River runs right between Fargo and Moorhead. The Sheyenne River runs on the west side of of West Fargo and you are less than a 1/2 hour from a bazillion Minnesota lakes. All contain fish and rivers contain just about every species that the midwest has to offer.

Once the RR diversion gets done after a few years from now I think that will also open up some good additional opportunities...

Carp? Are you AI? 🤣🤣

I shoot carp out of any given road ditch, any given year, with my bow.

The red and most of the smaller rivers flood every spring.

Go north of town.
