Fort Peck producing good

The annual Crooked Creek Walleye Tournament on Fort Peck Reservoir is taking place out of the Fort Peck Dam area this year, because of low water on the west end of Crooked Creek.

The tournanment has moved to the east end of the dam because the ramp is not launchable on the west end. 87 teams are competing in this year’s tournament for a first place prize of $10,000.

The top 13 teams each caught more than 40 pounds of fish the first day. Of all the teams, there were 26 walleyes that were at least 30 inches in length. 24 teams caught at least 30 pounds fish.

These are the top 7 leaders after Day 1. The complete final results of the tournament will be available on montanaoutdoor.com tomorrow night.

With a 100 lb winning weight, it must be 5/day for a two-day limit of 10 weighed fish.

Otherwise, I'm heading to Fort Peck this weekend.

Looks to me like the fish are measured and weight is calculated that way. And some can be a little favorable. But regardless the lengths are truly impressive across the board. Head the herd east.

It was. Wasn’t much for salmon numbers that year but they were in the teens for weight. The lakers were plentiful with a wide variety of sizes

I used to fish the governors cup over there that's where my pic is from I caught a 10lber and a 13 lber and wasn't in the top 5 big fish I took 30th place lol you need a 10lb average to win it

They don’t get the huge influx of blue platers and sconnies like the Dakotas, only one ramp on the lake has a paved road
