I planted two potted crab apple trees next to a water hole in a hunting area. I pounded in some t posts and curled a hog panel around each tree to protect them from deer. The hog panel worked to keep the deer out other than they'd reach in and eat the few apples and nibble some leaves off. Last winter a moose showed up and ate the tops of the trees down to level with the top of the hog panel. I figured the one would be ok but the other might be screwed. Well now this winter there is a cow and calf moose wintering in that area, I haven't drove over there but bet they've eaten as much as they could reach too. Might just have to build a 10ft tall woven wire fence around them and electrify the top with a hot wire.</p></blockquote><p></p>
