(sadly sporterized for a few reasons--quality work) and a Win 100 .308.  The rifles came with 70's .308 Rem Core-Lokt and Norma 6.5 139grn Semi-round nosed/boattail:  Sheepish about shooting the Krag due to 1800's metallurgy; the low serial# on the gun revealed it had been proofed three times up to 73,000 psi.    Neither of us had shot a Krag much less the 6.5 Swede (It's a neat little fucking deal!): Armed with the above knowledge; the bolt was removed/inspected for cracks and the bore appeared a bit dirty but INCREDIBLE(no shit).The sights on a Krag are beyond fine and probably designed to protect the Scandinavian elderly from enemy retaliation(that may be plagiarized I'd like to think not--I think it is).  Pard and I pressed through them and the two-stage 25lb<img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" /> trigger pull achieving a combined 6 shot group of 2 1/2 feet@ 50yds: Despite above negative attributes: The 6.5x55 is a neat<img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite2" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=";)" /> little bitch worthy of a high end/wood stock custom rifle.  Recoil is akin to a .243 Win and it's a favorite for Scandinavian moose.  They're pussies.Now the Winchester 100:  Two mags/two boxes of 70's CoreLokt 150's:  Knew absolutely nothing about this gun except it resembles a Savage 99 and it's an s-automatic.  One mag proved faulty as the other provided good service.  The original intent was just shooting the above guns for familiarization/whatever the fuck: Then this Win 100 provided a dime group at 50 for Pard with a cloudy vintage Weaver 2x7 scope.A tape measure then facilitated a 3in high/maxPBZ/quarter group @100yds.  The group fit in a freaking quarter @ 100 using seven total rds (first shot@100 was 5in high/2 in right after good break)... so there you go...BBL was allowed to cool to ambient between 100yd shots.  33 surplus rds and another box of 180...seems a good deal.Knew absolutely nothing about the Winchester 100 until today.  It's subject to a recall due to a weak firing pin.  Winchester still honors the recall.  That is all.</blockquote>
