Scrub Island, BVI had very nice beaches and you could hook a couple tarpon from the dock every night. I want to go back some day. P.S. I didn't care about the beaches.

Fiji was too far and too hot for me. Beaches were top notch. I just caught smaller reef fish from a kayak. Neat place as far as culture, though.

I am not going back to Mexico if I can help it. Went to Puerto Vallarta and didn't feel real comfortable stepping foot off the resort.

Let's put it this way. No one gives a damn if you ask them if they want to see your vacation pics. BUT, you tell your buds your wife can play the bagpipes? Everyone's gonna want to see that at least once.

On my meager budget, I am planning to save up and maybe make it up to Temvik, I hear they have a real nice tree, and on a good evening at sunset you might get to see some rats play in the scrapyard!!!!

Ha, I dated a girl from temvik. The bag pipes have always been a thing for her. She was at my cousins funeral last weekend and there was a bagpipe guy there. My cousin was part of the 5th special forces so there were a lot of cool ceremonies. She ended up talking to the bagpipe guy and bought some starter kit. So she's taking care of that. I'm thinking Florida wouldn't be terrible but I've been stuck in a hurricane there. I hate it. As long as I can get yuengling in my belly and a fishing pole in my hand, I'll be pretty happy.

I say Cabo, but that's because I love it. You CAN swim in Cabo from the Villa group to the marina as it is protected from the waves by lands end. We stay on the pacific side mostly because it's quiet and we like to shore fish but no swimming. Cabo is the BILL fish capital of the world for a reason they catch alot!! DO NOT go when their is a full moon phase fishing is iffy, they feed all night. I would recommend Del Arco if you want to swim or Grand Solmar or Finesterra on pacific side.

Where is svn? I feel we need his input on this. I mean, tropical fishing and bagpipes? This screams svn.

I am far from "well traveled" but I was in the Keys 2 years ago in November. What I saw there in the marinas is etched in my brain....giant TARPON! I looked into fishing for them before I went down there but apparently there is some sort of season on them and it was not open when I was there so that is still on my bucket list. Like others have stated, I did not see much for beaches down there.

As far as all inclusives go I love sandals! Good atmosphere trucked in sand for the beaches. Jamaica is one of my favorites. I think as far as the Caribbean goes Dec- Jan would not be the best time for deep sea fishing. You can still hire a little boat and jig fish the reefs and have a blast. Much cheaper as well. We went to Ochos Rios Sandals I got scuba certified, hired a boat to take as reef fishing and then to Dunns river falls for less than the deap sea charters. We were there for a week last April and the boat brought in one 40# Marlin during that time.

Dont let people scare you away from Mexico either. Ive got family that owns a house in Puerto Penasco (Rock Point) Im driving the kids down there this July. The border towns can be sketchy but most resort towns are pretty safe. Id be more worried about going to the Bahamas than Mexico.

My wife demands the same but I don't want to leave the states. Mehico es un third world narcostate. I'm thinking the Keys in February?

It's a tish further, but having been there twice, I highly recommend it. And Hawaii is still in the US, and is truly beautiful. Spent a week on Oahu, and a week on Maui. Loved it both times.
