Because of a roaming heard of cattle that liked young tomato plants and 3 weeks after replanting 2in of hail then replanting again with what ever I could find most of my bigger tomato are green as grass. Hope Jack frost stays away until October. LB

If I get frost Sunday Morning I am so screwed. I would need a semi load of blankets to cover what I need too. LB

Try getting an overhead watering system and water through the night until the temperature is above freezing may help

Going to pick what I have promised out and trust that it will not get that cold. News channel say frost but computer forecast says 37. LB

LB we lucked out in Bismarck too. 35 degrees at the airport. The squash has a ways to go. Tomatoes are turning quickly. Overall not a great year for gardens but not terrible.

Only thing that panned out for me this yr is a bumper crop of cuc's and zuc. Haven't dug under the spuds yet. Everyone around here are saying they are just getting small ping pong ball size taters. I am irrigated so know it wasn't lack of water this summer.

My garden was bonkers this year. Bumper tomato crop. I got 9 pints and a qt of salsa. I’ve made 17 qts and a pt of home made V-8. 4 qts and a pt of bloody mary mix. I’ll be making another batch of V-8 and bloody mary mix today and probably gave 60 lbs away. My pepper plants are full. Got some okra. Made 24 pts of pickled beets and 8 meals of butter beets and gave the neighbor some and he made 12 pts of pickled beets. Zucchini went nuts like normal and kohlrabi were good. Lots of peas. Couple rows of radishes early. Carrots are still in the ground waiting for a frost. Neighbor grows cukes like mad so I don’t plant those.

I have been all gardened out for a couple weeks . Blackbirds must have moved in and ate all the sunflower seeds when we were gone so I picked a bunch of corn and took the brush cutter to the corn and sunflowers and cultivated the ground. It sure worked up nice after the rain. Pumpkins , spuds, squash, cabbage and carrots are left.

First year we grew cabbage and had nice big heads but left them to long so some of them are rotten on the bottom.
