I'm a 1911 fan, I don't know what got me started on them. I tend to carry plastic pistols and use them more but if i'm just out shooting for enjoyment i grab a 1911. I was able to get one of the CMP 1911's and the one i have was rebuilt multiple times and it looks like the serial number had to be restamped at least once due to wear and refinishing i'm assume. It's nice to hold them and wonder the stories they could tell. Same reason i enjoy my old m1 garand.

I really like these. Haven’t shot one…yet.

I’m ok with a 9 mm and the proper ammo. Factory “Defensive” ammo has come a long way. 40 being my optimal CCW cal. At least for me. Although I’m not against a 9…or even a 380 to be completely honest.

I've shot one a couple of times and really liked it for the price especially. It was a little finickier with the ammo. It didn't like some stuff the guy had from freedom munitions. That ammo functioned in the other 1911's but the prodigy did not like it but functioned great on other ammo. I gave my buddy a lot of crap about buying it because i didn't like the frame on it and because it was a double stack. Now i pretty much can never buy one or i'll never hear the end of it from him.
