heated or not heated is the question

I ice fished with a guy that was trying to sell 5 gallon pails with heaters. He used a sterno and alchohol mix for heat. The steel pail had a bunch of holes to let air in for combustion. It worked real well. When you sat on it, if you had a longer coat on, it would drape over the top of the pail and the heat would rise up into it. It also had a rack in it so you could put your lunch in the pail and warm it up while you were fishing. We had warmed up brats one day and hot pockets another. I can't remember the name of the company, but it was the same guy that invented the Quadivator that's made in Portage La Prairie. The guy was a farmer from Swan River, MB

Another thing that works well for keeping my feet warm is the boot warmers you put over your shoes. I have a pair that are thinsulated so they aren't too bulky. I have them oversized and I don't tighten the draw string up very tight. That way the big pad size hand warmers still work inside of the boot warmer. If I use this setup, I can sit all day during November deer hunting without getting cold feet.

Dad ordered a seater heater from sears or herters in the 60s, I remember the excitement when we opened the box and fired it up. I think we went fishing right away to try it out. Like lots of other things it disappeared over the years , Have always hoped to run across another one for display, They are some on ebay once in awhile but shipping is nuts.
