It doesn't say what provoked the shooting maybe they were in the old guys blind. https://www.newschannel5.com/news/7...shooting-at-obion-county-lake-that-killed-two

they were not in that old piece of shits blind. He is known for being an asshole down there and has shot at other people who he thought were to close. Now they say he was suffering from dimensiona . He knocked on the door and when they opened the door to the blind started shooting. . His buddy bashed him with a paddle and told the cops who it was as he thought he was just going to yell at them. Two 20 year old kids dead over a fucking duck sad

The 70-year-old suspect in Tennessee double murder found dead.

A 70-year-old man accused of shooting and killing two men in their 20s on Monday was found dead in a Tennessee lake Saturday afternoon.

The body of David Vowell was pulled from Reelfoot Lake in Obion County around 3 p.m. Saturday and positively identified, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

His cause of death is pending an autopsy.

An arrest warrant had been issued for Vowell Tuesday for the murders of 26-year-old Chance Black and 25-year-old Zachery Grooms a day earlier

A third man who was duckhunting with Black and Grooms told investigators that Vowell had approached them by boat around 9 a.m. Monday and asked if he could use the same duck blind as them, accrding to
WJHL.

David Vowell was found dead Saturday.

Jeff Crabtree, who managed to escape, said Vowell began to load his gun as he got out of the boat, which struck him as odd; typically, hunters wait until they’re in position to load. That’s when he heard two gunshots and saw Grooms shot in the chest and Black in the side.

Crabtree said he was able to wrestle the shotgun away from Vowell, throw it into the water and then knock the septuagenarian out of his boat.

As he fled the scene, Crabtree said Vowell was still standing in waist-deep water, according to WJHL.

Investigators from TBI, the Obion County Sheriff’s Department, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency,

Tennessee Highway Patrol and Madison County Fire searched for Vowell, but had to pause midweek due to the rising waters before resuming Friday.

No motive has been publicly revealed.

So only one guy is alive eh?

Maybe the shooter.

- - - Updated - - -

Vowell, a retired businessman who is owner of Vowell Lumber Company in Martin, Tennessee, has no criminal history. His cousin, Steve Vowell, called David Vowell “one of the most mild-mannered folks you’ll ever meet.”
“The only time David Vowell would point his gun at another human being is in self-defense,” he said.”

***THE LATEST UPDATE NOW ON THE SHOOTING DEATHS OF TWO YOUNG MEN WHO WERE DUCK HUNTING ON REELFOOT LAKE.
— There is a great deal of interest in this case.
And, there are so many conspiracies and rumors.
I concede there are still unanswered questions.
But here is what we do and do not know:
WE KNOW the body of 70-year-old David Vowell was found Saturday in the waters of Reelfoot Lake.
The remains were located not far from where the shootings occurred at or near a duck blind on the lake last Monday.
WE KNOW Vowell — a Martin, TN businessman — was charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the shooting deaths of 26-year-old Chance Black and 25-year-old Zackery Grooms at Reelfoot Lake in northwest Tennessee.
WE KNOW there was a third person hunting with the two victims — Jeffrey Crabtree.
He told authorities Vowell came to the blind and shot both Black and Grooms for no apparent reason.
Authorities say Crabtree was able to get the gun from Vowell ... and knocked him into the water.
Then Crabtree headed to shore with the two victims to get help.
WE DO NOT KNOW what caused Vowell’s death.
I’ve been told it appears to be an apparent drowning, but the body has been sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy.
We should have a preliminary report this week.
WE DO NOT KNOW all of the details uncovered by investigators who continue to work the case.
WE DO KNOW that at this time there is absolutely NO indication Crabtree is a suspect in this case.
WE DO KNOW authorities have thoroughly questioned him and everyone else who knew the victims and Vowell.
WE DO NOT KNOW the motive for the killings.
People have posted all types of theories for what happened — from there was bad blood between the men to the belief Vowell was suffering from dementia which led him to violence ... to the idea that Crabtree is the killer.
I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT ANY OF THOSE THEORIES.
I can also tell you investigators will follow where the evidence takes them and then make their findings public.
Until then everything else is simply pure conjecture.
As it stands now the two victims will be laid to rest today and tomorrow.
MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO THEIR FAMILIES AND EVERYONE ELSE EFFECTED BY THIS TRAGEDY.
More to come.

It's a derivative from Latin. Anyone that took one or two years of HS Latin knows what those words mean.

Guessing that would be closer to zero of us, than 1..

When I went to HS in Botno, class of '63, we were required to take 2 years of a foreign language and there were no teachers that spoke fluent German, Spanish or French. Those were the spoken languages that were offered. So I took 2 years of Latin. Many of the English language words are derived from Latin. I think it has served me well in life.

Think of how many times in your life you could have used septuagenarian instead of "in his/her 70's." You could have shown your higher intelligence!!!
