It may be too early to say this but Korey Sprengel has the potential to be the KVD of walleye fishing. Do a little research on what he has done in the last few years. Pretty impressive. Kavajecz and Parsons I think are the kings of the walleye world right now. They are the ones that think outside the box (or get the best local information) and do what everyone else isn't.

Do these guys use worms and bobbers?

I agree completely. What Sprengel has done at his young age is pretty amazing and has some KVD potential.

One thing you have to take into consideration, and this may piss off a few walleye pros is, can you really consider them pros? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but if you have the money you can be a walleye pro. To be in the BASS Elites (what KVD is in) you have to qualify and if you don't perform your kicked out so to speek. Not the case in pro walleye tourneys. If you decide you want to be a walleye pro its simply a matter of flipping the bill. Like I said someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Imagine how cool a walleye tournament would be with BASS rules...Still a bit easier as there's no thrashing and jumping.

A pro-pike organisation would be interesting...

I thought for a while a year or two ago white sunglass Sprengel was going to be that guy. If the pwt would of stayed and that would of been the premiere tourney I think you would of seen some consistency. Chris Gilman he is the leader he has done well over the years

Ps when I first seen this I thought u said KDM. I have a feeling with this new skeet virus he is going to hit one out of the park. I just need some tickers of what one should be investing into. Who makes the spray?

I think Nick Johnson is the closest we've seen to KVD. Back in the FLW days, he was the one to beat.

Sprengel if you just think of the last 5 years.

Unfortunately Walley will never reach the heights of Bass fishing. Bass are found in a wider range of the country and Walleyes are which naturally leads to a greater audience to promote to. More audience = more sponsors = more money.

I am quite aware of Sprengel. He is good, but not KVD good.

Corey has been in the top 2 for NWT angler of the year twice. He got beat out the last time with a tie due to the other gentleman having a bigger one day bag. He has yet to become angler of the year.

It is impossible to be "KVD good" with slip bobbers and trolling. KVD would be just as good on walleye within BASS parameters: Damn it.

Point being: If you decide not to troll; read/study black bass tactics. You may get by-catch either way.

TANGENT: Chain pickerel are actually an extremely rare line cutter in Dixie BUT it's a possibility. They were called "jacks" in my neck of the woods. The below pic is a pristine example as a lot of fish are black due to tannins. My best was 3lbs on a spinnerbait. Whenever the boat got close enough to a cypress tree I'd make out with it then eat a sandwich.
