Lake Trout Anyone?

I'll be heading up north to Winnipeg for some greenbacks. However, I'm getting a craving for lake trout. Has anyone gone after these? Any tips? If I go, I'm thinking east end of LOTW.

No tips but good luck late trout are one of my favorite fish to eat.

I would save a lake trout trip for a year with less snow. The slush pockets swallow a lot of machines up in that country on a tough year. I have heard enough horror stories for me to wait for the right opportunity.
