The Sig might be a good rangefinder but its claim of 3400 yds is at reflective targets and 1200 yds on deer sized targets which is still good. They will not touch the Vectronix. My friends Vectronix has ranged deer sized targets at 4,000 yds. Heck they make one that will do 25 km. But, like you said the Sig for $500 is not bad for the price. I would like to compare it to the Leica 1600

This is like saying a Ford Fiesta is a good car but it doesn't compare to a Cadilac.

Vectronix makes a great range finder but it's out of most people's price range for just a rangefinder. And I believe they've discontinued the Terrapin which was the lowest price unit they make. I think.

G7 is a great tool if you want to spend the money but bottom line for $500 bucks it's pretty hard to beat a Sig. If you can't get closer than 1200 yards to a deer I guess the Vecteonix is your rangefinder.
