Only about 8 miles from my place. Sad deal, prayers for family and friends. Do not know yet who it was, LB

I was out last night, ice is getting much softer, my chipper blade digs like crazy, enough to cause my electric auger to cut out a few times before I even got to the bottom. Ice will be fine with an ATV for a while, but if you have permanents out still, Id get them off before the weekend.

Coming from a son who lost his dad to this very exact instance back in 12', don't even selfishly think about it please, the risks obviously aren't worth a miniscule fraction of the reward and those left behind... Prayers to the family and friends, RIP.

One other major issue deteriorating the ice is all the sand and dirt that blew on it. I know there was a bunch of good ice after the 30 below temps, but the ice changes FAST with the warm temps. Not only the running water and melting snow but that dirt and sand will eat right through it!!
