You do get a significant decrease in weight between the 2 types, for example an amped outdoors lithium ion (nmc) 32ah ( $259.99) weighs in at just over 4#, while the amped outdoors 30ah (199.99) lithium phosphate weighs in at just over 6#. But the fact is that the ratings per hour x price doesn't even come close when dealing with the facts. The newer technology doesn't put out even close.to the rated hours compared to the traditional lithium battery.
