Interesting. Law enforcement will have fun enforcing this bill. They will be required to carry some sort of equipment to measure decibels. Unusual noises? What if I fart to loud? I guess for me that would not be considered unusual. Ask my wife.
The most unusual noise I've heard of on my lake property was when a neighbor complained to me about a couple on the water about 2am. A little hanky-panky was taking place on the pontoon out in front of our places. He wondered why he needed to hear this and wondered what we could do about it. My response was "the next time you hear that let me know, I might want to join them."
Noise on the lake can be associated with lining near an airport. Sometimes it's a little louder than you want but relax, it won't last forever. Do kids on jet-skis make noise, yup, and isn't it great watching kids have fun? I own a PWC so my grandkids can have fun riding it, it's not for me. My enjoyment is watching them and putting gas in it.
He'll don't forget trains coming through turning the night and those pesky interstate highway will need to shut down.Hopefully this bill makes it illegal for geese to honk at sunrise.
Oh I don't know if I would make that bet. Because I know his number one big Bitchy thing is the airboats cuz they are quite loud when they launch and they have to launch in the pre-dawn light to get to where they're going. They offer head out at sundown and come back around sunrise.I live in Bismarck, and spend a fair amount of time on the water. In the summer there is a LOT of boating traffic in town, and I know better than to try to have peace and quiet and fish it.
Sound travels well over water, of course.
I'd bet $500 that the main complaint is loud music. Late fall and early spring, of course there's no problem. And I doubt that this is about jetskis, or 250hp Opti's. I would bet money its about the guy driving his pontoon down the river at 1 AM, covered in LED lights, with his music thumping. I see it nearly every night, early fall, north of town.
Or, even better, the guy who parks his pontoon in the middle of Marina Bay, or other bays, with his subs bumping, at 1 or 2 or later, in the morning.
I totally get that the people who live on the river don't own the river.
But if some jackwagon parked his car in front of my house, windows down and bass thumping, at 1AM, I'd be mad. I don't own the street, but common courtesy (and loud-laws that already exist) ought to have some weight for people with loud music. Right?
I believe it's illegal to mow your lawn at 1AM. Or till your garden. I think people give snow blowers a pass, since they're more of a necessary evil.
For the record, when I was younger, I loved my VERY loud music.
Eh? What's that you say?
