Saw some Canadian guides post that theyre still all the way up at Alvena SK. That’s 50 miles N of Saskatoon. Still a lot of birds on the way.

Gonna be a late one. Was out yesterday between 94 and hwy 200 and literally did not see a snow, although I know there are a few around. Kinda crazy for Oct. 29. No weather forecast for at least the next week, mid-40s for highs even up in Saskatoon.

I got turned down access on two different mallard feeds. Both guys were nice but said they had blue platers showing up this weekend. Therefore I want to burn it all down and say measures should pass with just 1% voting yes and not only schools but employers should provide lunch. Don’t try to reach me, I will be filling ditches and section lines with cans.

Whole lot of swans around.

Don’t be shocked. We knew it was all about pay to hunt

Yep its been leaning more and more that way for a good 10 yrs. Still knock on a few doors but pretty much know what the response is going to be.

I would still like to also see names for those that receive depredation payments made public.I haven't been able to find it.

Today's 40mph north wind will probably help, but 45-50 degrees for highs all the way up to Saskatoon for the next week+...

That's why I basically quit field hunting. Luckily WPAs and PLOTS still hold birds. And I find it much more enjoyable to watch a dog retrieve in water vs. land.
Thats why i really like our license system hardly ever get no down here. I dont know watching the dog run a 300 yard blind is pretty awesome in a corn field and not getting all wet is pretty nice to. I get to watch dogs swim all summer so that might jade me some to.

Never a shock to be told no these days. One guy did throw it out there to come back after this week but I’m probably done with waterfowl for the year. Bigger tags to fill.

I’d be curious to know the number of hunting licenses sold now compared to the few years prior to the screwing us over bill

This pay to hunt & heavy posting that's going on with today's landowners is as bad as Covid is to the general public. And it's total BS!! And electronic posting is rediculious!!!!
Did they forget who pays their flipping bills through Government handouts, fuel assistance, crop guarantees, contractings, depredation monies, & SO MUCH MORE!!
To not let a reasonable amount of land access and still head to the mail box for their "free lunch" and gratis tags for themselves is crazy bad.
Why should our taxes be used for their covering up bad business? If they were good business people, they would self-sustain their farming practices without all the Government assisstance (our taxes).

It's time we have the ND G&F fight for the sportsmen's rights. I know the Govenor's office, big PACs, ass't ag. associations & the like influence policies & votes--along with the good-ol'-boys legislation clubs & outside big monies, but we must fight to even the odds.

Be aware of what's going on, who's the culprits, & what we might/can do to better the experiences of being an outdoors person in North DAKOTA! FIGHT ON!!

Recent Waterfowl License Sales (Nonresident vs. Resident Data Overview)
    • 2024: 28,158 Nonresident | ~16,000 Resident (estimated/reported baseline)
    • 2023: 28,174 Nonresident | Resident waterfowl breakdown included via combination/small game licenses
    • 2022: 23,062 Nonresident
    • 2021: ~21,000–23,000 Nonresident range (post-pandemic rebound)
    • 2020: Sharp rise due to border restrictions and shifting hunter numbers
    • 2014–2019 Trend: Nonresident waterfowl licenses historically hovered between 23,000 and 24,500 annually, while resident waterfowl hunters have experienced a gradual multi-decade shift (dropping from over 40,000 in decades past to roughly 17,000–25,000 active participants depending on the reporting metric).
