True,it is a fight,I grew up on mille lacs, have many friends that are trying to make ends meet and hang on,sad part is the tribe is very rich, fat and sassy with casino money, they have destroyed a land mark fishery with they're greed after all do they really need to hunt, fish and gather as they did in the 1800's? NO,they do it because they can and "f' you if you don't like it.Our local ojibwa's have harvested for many years passing on tradition to the young,we get that its a none issue, our beef is with the 6 wisc bands pillaging our lake.

The ultimate goal here is the natives plan is to take back these lands, this lake by destroying it so they can buy the lands for pennies on the dollar and have full control much like red lake which is a separate sovereign nation.

It's funny how they (democrats) will argue that the founding fathers had no way knowing what kind of weapons would be around today when the 2nd amendment was penned, and that's why we don't need it anymore. Yet, they'll argue for groups to keep their "traditions" in the face of an economic and natural resource disaster. When does common sense come back into play?

what a horribly handled situation from the get go.

first it's close the season
then it's catch and release only - no live bait
then, just kidding, you can use live bait but c&r until quota is met
they determine quota by hooking mortality which based on angler catches and creel surveys.... so real scientific....
anglers go over said quota
state says that's ok keep fishing
wtf.

just kidding... again. season closed. lmao you can't make this shit up

Wags, what mapping data do you have? beware if you have navionics as they're maps donot show all rock reefs marked compared to lake master,if your going after labor day the dnr starts to pull all reef buoys, late august the crawfish are shallow and spawning and so are the smallies, walleye, pike and muskies.FYI

lake master. plan is to start by throwing tubes, hair jigs, and jerk baits on the reefs

We got beat up by the wind/waves. Boat control was tough and couldnt fish most of the reefs we wanted to. We didnt even boat a smallmouth all weekend. Caught plenty of walleyes on tube jigs, and wacky rigged senkos tho in 6-10 fow. Dont know what the big deal is, seems to be plenty of walleyes in that damn lake haha.

Yeah, most walleyes caught these days are from the 2013/2014 year class hatch(none can be kept of course.),late ice out and no netts, our dnr fails to regonize this and calls it a fluke of nature, netting 70 tons of walleyes during spawn has no impact on the species,so they say....

Bass masters has a big event coming up.guyz pre fishing are sticking some pig smallies,so far the largest I've herd of is 6,8lbs,I suspect we'll see a few over 7lbs@the weigh-in and a possible state record.

Not many places to hide on the pond, did you guyz fish Cove Bay? that's a great place for smallies and protected,Isle bay Wahkon are good bets s well on windy days.Maybe next time.
