my dad has a no-name mini ex... it works great as long as you have realistic expectations... works great for digging in a water line, or power line, or whatever you gotta do that doesn't need to be quick digging.... Only issue we've had with his is the track does tend to pop off if you do a ton of turning and spinning around with it... easy enough to avoid, and easy enough to fix if you need to. I think his will only go down to about 5' deep... I think his came with a 1' wide bucket, which works good, but he bought another bucket that's only like 8" wide and it digs very well with that.

Everyone thinks they are a technician until a piece of equipment breaks down, and you need to plug it in a computer, and the parts are in China, and the part number has changed 3 times since you purchased it, and no one who speaks English is available, and of course they have since gone out of business... I see you have no clue about the components that go in these and the availability of parts unless you talked to someone with a non AGT machine. I'm not too worried , the guy who gave us the 2 hour tour of them inside and out is a mechanical engineer friend of my son, both my sons are also engineers so we are somewhat in the loop for being hillbillies.

Basically just purchasing a cheap temu mini ex at minimal risk investment. Keep expectations and work load on the lower side and im sure it'll be money well spent. If not, you're not out a ton of money and the grandkids have a very nice Tonka toy for the sand pit.

My boy mentioned that he would like to use it for for grandsons Birthday party. I can see that being a hit.

Meh, these little units are powered by a small gas engine that can be bought off the shelf at harbor freight for replacement... all of the hydraulic parts are manual, not much electronic on these units... I'd almost be willing to bet that a guy could go on surpluscenter.com and but all of the hydraulic controls and cylinders for replacement... it's a $5000 mini-ex... there's a reason it's only $5000. They are very basic machines.

I know the run around you mention as I had to deal with it with my Kioti Tractor last spring... trying to find parts to rebuild the engine in it proved impossible(only because the cylinders aren't sleeved and nobody makes oversized pistons), so in the end a brand new $8000 engine went into it... took about 2 days to get the damned thing back together and luckily I was able to find a dealership that was nice enough to send me a copy of the shop manual for it...

I have a buddy who auction shops for everything, because the dealer is always trying to "rip him off"

After the purchase, he goes to the dealership and spends more getting them to fix the auction junk, as they are on auction for a reason. But he feels spending the money on parts and service is just a better route...

nothing fucks up a good thing like an engineer . Some of the smartest, dumbest people I know. 6 years of college and no fucking common sense or know how to work on the shit they are engineering. I deal with mechanical engineers at work all of the time. I learned they can build anything on a computer but when it comes to actually putting it together in the field, they have no fucking idea. God made welders so engineers can have heros too.
