What's always made me wonder why guys down there will never go to Biz in the spring, but in June the ND guys will sure go there.
I think we usually have a decent spring bite so not worth the drive but this year it’s worth it.

I’ve been out 3 times the past couple weeks and biggest has been a 25”er. Talked with a guy that got a 29.5” but I also haven’t been hearing of the giants this year.

Been going out a couple times a week on the river for the last month or so, its been allot of fun from Bismarck down to beaver. I shake my head allot though at the lack of common curtesy these days on the water, how close some guys will move in and spot lock on you at 10 yards..ugh. Its a huge river.
Did run up to New Town on Sunday, 20 degrees when we hit the water. We were the 2nd boat out, the first guy drove straight up the big long ramp and didn't drain off his trailer..what an idiot. Bite was fun for the first 2 hours then it died..bad. Ran south and all we could catch were ling and pike but it was a gorgeous day!

Oh, there's a number of SD plates at Hazelton every spring.

While my boat (and the others I've been in this spring) hasn't had many over 24 this year, I know people who have caught some really nice fish. Several above 30, with a 32 being the big fish of the ones I've heard about and seen the pics.

The 18-22 inch fish have been quite portly as well!

Well, 3 of us made it out of Fox Island this morning around 10:00 ran up to the huge mushroom looking water intake on Bismarck side and picked up one 17" walleye. Worked that area for a while then north of Interstate on Bismarck side at the well know Honey Hole. Manage 4 more decent walleye and buddy caught one and we got one nice sized bass. Pulled out of there around 2:30 and headed back to the dock. All caught on a plain chartreuse 3/8 oz jig and a minnow. Laying jig on the bottom and slowly lifting about 1" to 2" is all and feel the weight of the fish. Very light taps is any at all. 3 were 21" two were spawned out and one still had eggs. Good luck to all coming up in the tourney.
