I don't think that is an option anymore due to some lawsuits. I'd love to crank up my 150 verado but the research I did indicated I was too late to the game.

I know there are motor series where the basic block and everything are the same between, let's say 90 and 130 HP, or maybe the 150 and 175 models. It's just the computer that controls the eventual output of the motor. I'm sure that's an overly simplified way to put it, but manufacturers do it for economy of scale. I've always tried to avoid getting the model which generates the max HP, just out of an abundance of caution. My JD tractor is the same way. One can get the exact same tractor frame with the same basic engine, but the addition of a turbo and some computer changes boost the output from 41 to around 57(?) hp.

Now, if one is boosting the HP to something that exceeds the Coast Guard rating for a given hull, then you are subject to running afoul of the law if something ever happens safety wise.

I've got a verado 150. Seems there is little difference up to 250. Was hoping to bump it up to 200. I've looked into it a bit and understand not many places will advertise.

Just curious, but are you having performance/handling issues, or are you just looking for a little more of the wheee factor?

Wasn't the Verado 150 a 1.7L that was offered in 135,150,175?

I have always felt the engineers at the drawing board likely have more into the game than Jimmy at the "rev em up shop" likely does, and have never put the more than likely headache into any of my stuff.

Seems once you start messing with shit, you are gonna keep on messing trying to get it back to where you started out essentially.

Just feel the need to go a little faster. Easier to sneak up on the fish!

If it's a Yamaha you can send the PCM to Australia. I think the EPA pretty much killed the shops here. I was going to up my 1.5L 75hp optimax to a 115, but the ban hammer was dropped right before I checked.

As Allen stated, if there is ever an incident and it is discovered the engine is no longer in original condition, expect legal troubles and no coverage by your insurer.
As to the Geico Pig... WWWHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
