H&H or Ruger? Also, he was making fun of the ammo cost vs the rifle. It's a Mossberg no thanks, modern Mossberg accuracy and quality has not been very stellar the last few years. If I'm going to shoot an elephant I would not be going 375 anyways and I darn sure am not taking a Mossberg to trust my life with.
The amount of money it cost's and time to secure an elephant hunt the last thing I am skimping on is rifle and ammo and would likely be looking 416 Rigby, 416 Rem Mag or step up to 458 and a control round feed is a MUST.
Now if a person just wanted a 375 maybe not a bad entry level, honestly when you sit down and look at it a 375 H&H vs 338 Win Mag for large animals at 200 and in still with the possibility to stretch to 300 if really needed the 375 makes sense especially if you are a handloader.
Dang you svnmag now I want a 375 again.
Lemme know when you’re ready……..Dang you svnmag now I want a 375 again.
Yes and no. Realistically all I (or anyone) need to hunt 95-98% of animals in the world is a 30-06 and I have 2 of dad's that are Model 1903 Springfields he sporterized years ago himself including cutting, rewelding and shaping the bolt handle to clear the scope. Yet here I am with various calibers that I have acquired because I like to shoot, reload and tinker which I pretty much got from my dad. If I were to get a ND Moose tag it would probably give me the reason to buy a 375 H&H just because I think it would be cool not because a 30-06 or my 7mm RM would not be up to the task.Save the money for a hunt not a gun. To many people have a room full of stuff and never went anywhere hunting
