Was the anchor actually in the water and you drug it with or did it fall off the back of the boat while under way?
Wow you are a lucky man and thanks for the safety lesson. Unreal it could be thrown forward with the velocity it had.:whaaaa:

It's tied to the front port cleat .. I threw it off when I beached it at the marina and here's the really stupid part on me.... My hands were kinda full caring worms and tackle.. I just picked it out of the rocks and threw it in the water right next to the boat with all intentions to jump in the boat and pull it the rest of the way in... Well you can see I set my worms down and took off and forgot to go back to the front to pull it the rest of the way in.... Big learning curve on my part

I have forgotten to put the plug in several times. It sucks with the aquatic nuisance laws that you cant transport your boat with a plug in it. I always made sure my plug was in the boat before I left home before the law.
