I learned how to waterski behind a 70 hp merc. Kneeboard too. Later, a 85hp Suzuki was enough to barefoot behind. I had a pal whose dad had a boat with a 115 hp merc, and that thing was hot. Then later, a pal had a Ski Centurion barefoot boat, with a 200 hp Opti, and that thing was a corvette. Later, the same guy traded for a Mastercraft Barefoot Warrior Comp, with a 200hp Yamaha. Mind blown. Now, fishing boats have more than double that HP. Shoot, one of my neighbors has a pontoon with a 350 Merc on it. But, the first time I heard about an $85K boat for here in ND, I thought someone was pulling my leg. And never even mind wakeboard boats. The better ones routinely go for north of 100K. All of a sudden, the very best waders on the market (perhaps Sitka or Simms), even at $1000, seem pretty tame by comparison.
