Wow talk about hang out to dry

Didn't know he was "one the the greatest" not even a top 10 of all time, just that he only won 2 SB because of Terrell Davis. Kinda like Troy Aikmen.

I think there is more to being a good qb than just stats on the field I like John Elway because he is a very successful business man who has years of experience in the trenches of the NFL. He was good enough to play in 5 superbowls and yes he is in the top ten best of all time.

John Elway is a great buisness man and good QB but not 1 of the greatest. All im try to say is if you remove TD from the the broncos with Elway they dont win back to back titles. Just like the broncos this year they didnt need Manning to win. They could've won with and any starting QB in the league or back-up.

John Elway

Hate to burst your bubble...but Elway DOES NOT train his players or anybody in the Bronco organization, he takes care of the business side of that organization, so I don't see how this lynch guy is going to "learn" from Elway..please explain.

Elway: You see son, the key to the QB boot leg his to hide the ball behind these 2 massive front teeth works every time.

Lynch: Huh;)

Elway was a great qb off the field as well, that's what Elway can teach a young qb how to be a role model for others.

How could some of you not be watching the draft tonight? This is going to be the biggest sports story to ever come out of North Dakota. I can't wait to see Wentz staring this fall for the Eagles!

Biggest sports story of the year maybe. Not to take away anything from Wentz because #2 overall in the draft is a hell of a feat but to say that its the biggest sports story to come out of ND is a leap. Now if he grabs a SB as a starter I'll definitely move him up the list.

I think a few of these were already listed but maybe some of these names will ring a bell:
Roger Maris - American League MVP '60, '61. Broke Babe Ruths HR record
Phil Jackson - 6 NBA titles as a coach w/ the bulls alone
Darin Erstad - Outfielder for the Angels
Virgil Hill - Heavy Height title holder.
Pete Retzlaff - 5 time pro bowl pick
Dave Osborn - Vikings RB from '65-75'
Rick Helling - MLB pitcher
Jim Kleinsasser - Vikings TE
Brooks Bollinger - meh...

Even today two more grand forks kids (Paul Ladue, Luke Johnson) signed NHL contracts. Again not taking anything away from Wentz, just trying to ease you back to reality.

Forgot about Keaton Thompson (Devils Lake) signing with the Ducks as well.

#2 Overall Draft Pick in 1st Round
16' Cap= $4.8M
Signing Bonus= $17.6M

Total #2 Draft Pick= $22.4M

And on top of his $22.4M, he did sign a contract with Nike.

So even if he is a flop (which I doubt he will be), he still panned out pretty well!!

And as long as we are tossing out all people who lived in the state for a decent chunk of time Ronda rousey qualifies as well.

The Minnesota Vikings made history on Saturday.

Moritz Boehringer became the first straight-from-Europe draft pick in NFL history when the Vikings used a sixth-round selection on him.

Boehringer quickly is becoming a folk hero here. His story is incredible. He played — get this — for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns of the German Football League and put up monster numbers in 2015: 59 receptions, 1,232 yards, 13 TDs.

At his pro day, held at Florida Atlantic, the 6-foot-4, 227-pound Boehringer put on a show — a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, a vertical of 39 inches, a 10-foot-11 broad jump, 17 reps on the bench press, a 4.10-second short shuttle, 11.15-second 60-yard shuttle, and a 6.65-second three-cone. Those are elite testing numbers for any receiver, much less one with his terrific size.

Teams started digging immediately. Who was this guy? Several teams really did work on him, and the Vikings were among them. NFL Network's Mike Mayock took to Boehringer and promoted his cause, and it turned out that the Vikings were listening.

I'm all in on this German kid. I watched some interviews and highlights and I'm pretty impressed. Hope he has a shot.
