Watching the ATL/TB game tonight, I finally see that Kirk Cousins is exactly who we watched while he was in MN. I was delusional in thinking he could take us anywhere. He puts up stats, gives hope, but is a statue in the pocket, check down too quick on critical long yardage, and ultimately ends up choking in primetime.

Never thought I'd say I'm happy to have Sam Darnold, but for God's sake he can feel pressure and slide in the pocket or run when needed to keep drives alive. So far, good move for the Vikings and WAY cheaper option.

As usual, I'm probably Vikings delusional again - just with a different "Great White Hope".

Edit: I write this with 1:08 left in the game. Maybe this doesn't age well, maybe it does.

All QBs need time. Last year he was doing good, they killed SF and GB, he got hurt.

Kirk can have a thousand yard, ten touchdown game, or two. I don't care. Two good seasons in a 14 year career....? He is gone. That is all that matters.

Isn't throwing the ball away in the end zone a safety? Regardless of the tackle box or past the line of scrimmage or anything else. Could have sworn I've seen that called in the past.

No if you are out of the tackle box you can throw it away as long as it crosses the line of scrimmage.
