Thats like comparing the 2015-16 golden state warriors to the 95-96 Chicago bulls, they cant be legitimately compared because the game has changed too much.
The league passing percentage when randy played with Minnesota was around 50 percent now its 64 plus. The game was much harder back then so comparing numbers cant be done, now talk about pure raw talent randy is and will always be in a league of his own. Is randy the greatest alround nope, that honors to me goes to jerry rice.

Yes he was an OC for the Rams. Not the "Coach" the Coach has final say on "All Operations" of the game. If the "Coach" doesn't feel the play is right that the OC called for the.situation ,he can interact, hence the headsets.
I will always wish them luck, but they're success is many years down the road.

Oh, and that Rams team had many talented players on the roster, both sides of the ball.
