We need an retired/ future hall of fame player to be general manager, like the 49ers did with john lynch. Koc will have one year to prove he is worth it going forward, because he technically is in the same bus as the general manager that the vikes decided to throw under first.

I also thinks that where the gm failed he was a numbers guy and wasn’t good at the feel part of building a team. JJ has potential now can he realize that is the real question. As hot as th seat is for Koc this season I don’t know if he is willing to risk his future on that potential.

Coach of the year a year ago, KOC is about as far away from the hot seat as you can be. Not bringing back darnold proved to throw this organization in a tailspin and reverse everything they'd built towards in the end. Everyone knew the risk involved and if anybodys on the hotseat, it's JJ. He has a mountain to prove or this team went from believed superbowl contenders to rebuilding over a one year risk that failed as miserably as one could imagine.
Wouldn't be surprised not to see JJ in vikes uniform after this offseason either, KOC not a big fan.

Jared Goff actually regressed when KOC became the OC with the Rams, to the point they traded him to Detroit for Stafford. You really want to make the leap, Kirk Cousins statistically got better when he left Washington and KOC to come to the Vikings, then got statistically worse again when KOC showed up in Minnesota. Completion percentage down, TD's down, INT's up. Hmmmm.....

I'm nobody, but in around 50 years as a Viking fan, JJ is the first player I wanted them to pick, and they did. Two high school state championships, one in Illinois and one in Florida after Illinois covid cancelled his senior season. In 2022 I watched him throw two pick sixes against TCU in the CFP and lose. First time I knew who he was. He could have entered the draft then, and was projected as a first rounder, but he stayed in Michigan to win a national championship, and he did. That got my attention.
1. Loves football so much he moved states to play.
2. He is loyal to those loyal to him. He did not enter the draft and missed out on millions, but he and his team have an FBS National Championship instead.
3. He fucking wins. Sometimes it's eventually, but he wins.
People giving up on him after one year is simply football retardation. There are dozens of examples of HORRIBLE first seasons, way worse than McCarthy, turned into success. He and KOC will figure this shit out, and I can't wait to watch.
