And the crazy part, MSA's daughter was hesitant to pet my 3 month old puppy when I dropped Wags' perch off.

Not a komodo, theres lots of big species of monitors that get in that size range. Hes a sumatran water, they get up to 9 or 10 feet, but not as heavily built as komodos. Theres probly ten othe species of water monitors, and then the blackthroats from africa get heavier but not as long, the croc monitors get the longest but stay skinny live in trees and have a long prehensile tail.

Yeah, I was just eff'ing with ya. Not even you would be likely to keep a true komodo dragon with their nasty saliva (and I heard not long ago that they have now confirmed they are venomous as well).

A pet turtle is one thing, a pet 8-10 ft lizard is another whole ball of wax.

All monitors are venomous. Captive komodos are very intelligent and do get dog tame. They follow their owners around and beg for attention.
