Not sure why the negatives on the Nissan. I had a 2000 Frontier I put almost 200,000 on and never put a dime into it besides basic maintenance and then bought a new Titan in 2012. The Titan has been a good truck so far. We use it to pull the camper at least 10 times a summer and it works great for that. The only real knock there is the short box. As far as the mileage goes it doesn't seem to be any worse or better then most V-8 powered trucks.

Picked one up last night. Couldn't pass up the deal and the lease was over on the "old" one.

Hahahahaha! I can't freakin' believe that both Chevy and Ford make "Operator" models.

A bit older than you want I would guess but the 2002-2009 4th generation Toyota 4 Runner is as bullet proof as they come with the 4.7 V-8 engine they offered. One totally bad ass ride but because of this they are rare as hens teeth and hold their value much better than almost anything else on the road.......................Except for Dodge cummins that is, but you came into this thread with a highly biased attitude ruling out the top tiered vehicles already.

What ever pickup you decide to buy is fine......as long as it has at least a 6.5' box, 3.92 gear ratio, 5.7 liter, etc, etc, By the way does anyone know where the Northerns are biting??

Still love my Tundra…however the 2016-2017 Titians have caught my eye…mostly because you can get the CrewCab with the 6.5ft box…and yes they have a turbo cummings diesel as an option … the Titian XD SL seems like a pretty legit truck …between options and gas mileage they are very compareable to the Tundra…however that box option might be the deal breaker…however I am sure by the time I am ready to upgrade Toyota will have caught up to the rest…
