I agree with what your saying. Thats my point how can one person put a dent in the population that hundreds of barrels can't.

I'm not sure what Bullsnake plans to use, but this is what I'd use:

I've seriously considered something like it for pocket gophers in our hay fields.

One step closer to the end.
I read that many times - I figured maybe it wasn’t that pivotal an issue

seems like cows have, for eons, had to deal with burrowing animals

also - maybe one cow per 10,000 breaking a leg is actually still a net gain for all the herbicide-free grooming?

again- just pondering it - not taking a position pro/con vs the dogs, just pondering it

you don't have a dog in the game . . .

Not where I'd like to be
stupid question: don’t p dogs groom large areas and tend them of weeds etc. so that only grass grows?

Not really. They mow down everything in sight until all that's left is a big dirt patch with mounds.
However, since I don't have any on my land, I'm kind of fond of the fuzzy little critters, or at least 'sploding them.

PLan on using poison oats, when used correctly, they are very effective. lots off land overrun here by prairie dogs. regulations are tight and options slim, but the job is very much needed around here.
