Well, couple good goto resorts but I suggest "Cookies Resort" www.cookiesonupperredlake.com, these folks work together up there and cookie works his ass off getting folks on fish by moving his houses every few days, lately the bite has been slow, this extreme cold weather has'em sluggish but ya never know when they will turn on.Remember they have a slot limit and (4) daily on red,no freezer limit either, some do fish fry's on the lake, others have the resort do a fish fry.

PS~ If ya get into a good bite don't get smart and clean the fish in your house and dump the entrails down the hole, wardens check shanty towns bye running a camera down next to shacks while on patrol looking for discarded walleyes carcases.

Goodluck!

PS~ The key is keep away from the crowds
,as long as you are in portables your catch rate will increase away from shanty towns as the lake is like a dish bowl,14' max depth so vehicles moving about will shut a good bite down pronto.

Stay away from crowds. It is a giant bowl, so don't be afraid to move around, especially during the day. Center Bar has a road out to it so there are probably 10,000 perms out there.

JRs is a good place to get on, Rogers is good too. Almost all of them have a bar and serve dinner and stuff. Most places have minnows. If you are heading up through Blackduck, stop in at Timberline (the Shell station) for bait and tips on where to fish.

I will 2nd this...stopping at the Timberline in Blackduck. Lots of hunting/fishing stuff you wouldn't expect at a gas station! We own some property on a little lake near Blackduck so make a point of stopping/spending anytime we are near there in the summer.

Not much to report, 1 walleye and 3 perch. No size to any of them. Trip was a lot of fun but cold! 2nd morning we woke up to -39. If any one is fishing that way and not in sleeper house the rooms at casino were nice and clean, cheap to. If you eat the buffet make sure to bring TP on the lake next day I learned my lesson. Magazines don't work well
