I have a 1982 Honda Urban Express scooter I'd like to get licensed. The problem is I do not have a title for it. I received the scooter from my boss and the title was either lost or misplaced. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on how to get this scooter licensed so it's actually legal to ride. Is it worth the time and a how pricey can the cost be to recover a title?

Thank you

If your boss was the last known owner and there was a title issued at some point they should have a record of the title and would be way easier for him to go in for the replacement and then turn over to you otherwise it would be a lot of extra paperwork and hassle to get one.

If your Boss had it titled at some point, he should be able to get a duplicate title for $5 from the DOT.

And my understanding is your boss has to get the duplicate.

It is possible to obtain a replacement title on your own. It would, however be much easier for the previous owner to get the replacement title and then transfer it to you. DOT should be able to tell you how to obtain a replacement. Doing it on you own will just take more effort and time.
