I had that problem for awhile I collected guns and had so many I got bored I started hunting with pistols and archery and muzzy if I ever get drawn lol but then I got back the rifle itch I challenged myself with longer range and precision reloading also helps keep this interesting working different loads finding what works with what guns many different ways to keep things interesting
Yes I have same disease. But I don't mind this one vs other health ones I have.

Thanks! Hoping my son has all the luck this time around like his brother did last year, last hour of the last day of our muzzleloader hunt after sitting several days without seeing a buck!

Yup! I'd actually passed him up the year before when he had just one drop tine so that was pretty cool. Long sit today just way to nice out, haven't seen a single deer but I still have about 45 min to go!
Update 3 fawns, 2 does and a forky the last 45 min.😊

Hey @5575
How'd the Canadian hunt end up going for ya ?
Temps in the 50s, low deer numbers because of a couple tough winters and wolves did note bode well for us. But my son had a golden opportunity one evening with a nice 5x5 rightbin front of him at 30 yds. But he was unsure if it was past legal shooting light, when in reality he had 10 min but it was really overcast that night..ugh! Though about running back up this week with rifle actually but there just hasn't been any big deer sightings. I have a chance at a big 5x5 back here at home, sat dark till dark the past 5 days but he was a no show. I have the last four days of season off so hopefully he messes up!
On a better note my 75 year old mom sent me this pic a couple days ago. Her text simply said "got my buck today" hell yea she did!

I took some time off hunting and went over to her place and took a couple pics. Pretty darn proud of her, her passion for hunting is that of a kid still! I definitely know where myself and my kids get it from!😊👍👍

Thanks guys, yea she's a rock star. Still lives on the farm by herself. Does chores every morning because you've got to have critters to butcher and eggs right! Makes the best sausage, jerky, pickles and hot salsa "my favorite" even took taxidermy lessons back in the day and fleshes and tans her own hides. They definitely don't make them like her any more!
We stopped to get minnows the other day to go fishing at the coop. As we walk out she says "did you see all those old clucks in there drinking coffee, just sitting around waiting to die.."
Ha ha ha and off we went to put the boat in, was around freezing. She's a trooper!😊
One of my nieces took her first buck as well last week, her and grandma are best buds. She even has her selling lots eggs for spending money.😊👍

Wow! that is amazing, Congrats to your mom! Thanks for sharing your stories. Good luck on the 5x5, I bet he will slip up this weekend!
He did!
Finally put an end to this story, he was 7.5 yrs old and was pretty much a ghost disappearing for months at a time during season. Just an old prairie whitetail that's never seen an ag field, pretty special deer.
When you have so many years of history with a buck it sure makes the harvest all the more sweeter thats for sure! At this point we just wanted anyone in our hunting camp to wrap a tag on him. And yesterday on another of my dark to dark sits at 2:24 he cruised by me and the stw did the rest!😊

awesome 5575. I love the dark horns. Got a bruiser that I have been looking for since I found out about him last Dec, got one set of pictures last year and one picture on Nov 9th on a different camera than where me and my daughter were sitting so he is around. He will be a tough one to catch up with especially since I have not been able to really spend the number of hours out that it will probably take to catch him cruising. Good thing is he is able to pass his genetics on, There have been some bucks with odd racks showing up the last few years and they are higher on my want list but they are hard to find as well, our deer numbers overall are just not good after the hard winters, last year helped some but your coyote numbers can't be helping any. Hopefully I got a guy willing to trap lined up and some thermal hunters lined up, had a meeting and showed someone around the week before rifle with a guy I have some high hopes of putting some fur on the ground.
