Sak Sakakawe Walleye in December

A couple of us made it out to the big lake, yesterday and today. Found a couple of easy limits and some nice weather. Catching fish in the boat in December sure does shorten up winter.

We were in the New Town area, fishing in about 30 fow. Caught them on jigging raps, shadow raps and jig/minnow. Jig/minnow was the best.

NIce! A few buddies and I hit up the Missouri River in the Bismarck area on Wednesday, it was fun even though the size was smaller than what you put in the livewell.

Even at 25-30 fow they were puffing out their swim bladders, so, we kept our first 10 and called it a day(s).

That’s awesome! Did the same yesterday and got my 5 in a couple hours. Was a beautiful day for sure. Caught mine in 18-22’. The air bladder was still puffy when I filleted them.

Nice Vollmer! Was in the Hook on Wednesday and got into some nice 15 to 22 inchers. Had to work for them though.
we keep the ones in 30 to 35 feet. A couple of ours had the eye bulge. Definitely shortens the winter.

Got out on Saturday 12/23/23 out of Ft Stevenson, no ice in sight as we left the ramp, ended up finding our fish out at the mouth of Douglas Bay, sitting in about 25' casting up the hill into the shallows and dragging it back. Surface temp was at about 39 degrees at its highest. It was a beautiful day out on the water, and a new "latest in the boat" date for me for the ol' memory bank. Hoping to get a January 1st day in, but I'm not too confident it will happen.
