WOW is right , I wonder if he would have told 911 dispatcher that it's an emergency rather than "My wife won't let me stop" what the outcome would have been ?

Both sides are wrong. The guy should have pulled over right away and explained to the cops the situation. The cops shouldn't have been dicks.

That summbitch who said, "I'll get rid of the video" needs to be 1. Fired immediately, 2. Financially responsible for re-litigating every case he's ever been involved with.

I missed the part where the initial reason for stopping was stated, I assume speeding. Is it any wonder LE get a bad rap. People are their own worst enemy, LE and public both.

Agreed. The best way to piss cops off and to raise their suspicions / heighten the tension of the situation is to not pull over immediately. They see and hear a lot of BS every day, so I don't blame them for not immediately believing them. However, they could have dropped it a few notches after assessing the situation. And the guy that said something about getting rid of the video is definitely fired.

Pull over right away. Explain it. They likely escort you to the hospital. I don't really blame anyone for this shitshow. Lots of what ifs.

In today’s technology world, the guy could call 9-1-1 and provide description of vehicles for, his license plate plate #, location and route to hospital? Can’t fix stupid (or being a dumbass). Worst part of the deal I’d that he is passing his gene pool on. Feel sorry for their kid(s).

If if the dispatcher failed to inform the officers, then they have to leave ok at the timing of when the call came in and when they pulled them over. Either....doesn’t warrant lawsuit.

He did call 911.

He did call 911....instead of that operator radioing the officers in the area and informing them of what was going on, she told the guy to pull over and explain. He did and he went to jail and 20 minutes later an ambulance picked up his wife, while the officers discussed erasing the video footage. Rarely if ever do I side against the police but in this case what a bunch of meatheads

My impression is that the driver is "leading them on" I would hope that 99.99 % of people would have told dispatch my wife is having a baby VS my wife won't let me stop. The cop that wanted to erase the tape should be dishonorably discharged, Never be aloud to serve again.

911 should have been the first call just to let them know what vehicle and route they will be on, once they intercept it usually ends with a high speed escort at that point instead of a chase. He did wrong by waiting to call 911 until he was being chased and then saying what he did.
Every police officer there should have been put on unpaid leave for some time and the one who wanted to destroy the tape fired on the spot.

That is just awful, if that was my community I would be screaming bloody murder for heads to roll. Maybe I am a naive north dakotan but so much of that video is beyond any code of conduct.

I recall seeing some sort of PSA that advised people to call 911 and not pull over until it was confirmed to them that the pursuit was a legitimate LEO.

Between the use of force, stupidity, and lack of common sense, that's why they call them pigs! Did you catch the LEO's language? Never a reason for that fowl talk from a officer! The training proceedures for LE need to be re-evaulated and adjusted to a civil way of handling situations. They seem to think all cases revolve around show of force rather than a true show of authority. Yes, there is a huge difference!

Could u imagine if the couple was black? There would be riots for months

I got pulled over at 4 am on the way to the hospital while my wife was in labor. I obviously pulled over immediately and explained the situation and hauled ass to the hospital.

Not stopping is just dumb. But the cops were dipshits
