My iphone 5 is causing me to spit nails. I think I may head to an antique store and buy me a attach to the wall phone with the rotary dial.;:;banghead
I THINK the problem started with the latest software update from Apple. None of my apps open...they spin and spin and spin. The only time they open is when I am home and connect to our wifi.
According to Verizon I was eligible for an upgrade last year. But I am fine with what I have. I am thinking the Verizon/apple conspirisists are invading my phone wanting me to upgrade. I did take my phone into the local Verizon store and of course they couldn't find a fix..just wanted me to upgrade...For just $33 dollars a month you can get the new and improved Samsung 7edge with 2 year contract of course! Nooooooo thanks. At any rate..have any of you had the same issue and what was the fix? And..how about them smart track phones.. are they any good?
I may just resort to smoke signals, morse code, hollering out the door, and maybe...god forbid..actually visiting in person. Rant over!

You could be low or out of memory on the device, go to settings, general, about and let me know what "available" says. If you're down to 200-500 mb's it could be one of the few issues.
In the meantime, hold your home button and power button down at the same time until the phone reboots (approx 10-15 seconds and this is akin to pulling the battery).
Also, is your phone showing 4g or lte at the top when not connected to wifi? Quite possibly your cellular data got toggled off (settings, cellular data, make sure its green.)
Any other questions i will be glad to get you my work number or hook you up with someone i know in the mall there in DL to get it figured out (non-verizon store) but i could give a ratzazz about that.
Pretty damn positive i could easily diagnose your problem within 5 minutes having your phone in my hands without just trying to get a sale out of ya; which sounds was more than likely the case or they were just a little wet behind the ears maybe. Let me know.

Hard reset is where I would start and depending on what I had put on it over time I might do a factory reset. The Samsung tablet i use is a cheep sob and I've had to do two factory resets since January. Did the Verizon people have any idea or just sales BS. I personally would go in there and say fix it or tell me exactly why it's not working with a very stern I'm not here to play games with your AV club ass tone and demeanor.

Your first problem is that its an Apple... ;) A good reset and make sure all your apps are update is a great answer. Phones are picky picky devices, too much stuff can slow them down, crappy applications can slow them down, etc etc etc. I'm not an apple guy so I cant offer much beyond that.

Thanks for the tips! Answers to a few of your questions. Available shows 3GB, phone is showing LTE, Cellular data is green.
I will try the power down and home button suggestion shortly and report back.
