I got the latest Scheels flyer in the mail last week. I was thumbing threw it and noticed all the Camo was on sale. I haven't purchased any kind of camo from Scheels in over 20 yrs and I have lost 30 lbs in the last 4 months. So I went there yesterday and started looking around. The first set of bibs that I was looking at were 800.00. I about shit, DO people actually buy them. There were other that were 700.00 and 600.00. Plus you have to buy the jackets. I didn't price them out. I settled on the Antler River mid season Fleece bibs and jacket for 89.00. Before sale they were 140.00. I know with the the old style long John's I won't get cold in these.

Only if you have an outdoor tv show and then your sponsor buys them for you as a write off or advertising LB

I don’t pay retail for any of my Sitka but I wore enough shitty clothes back in the day that good stuff is worth it for me
I remember setting in the decoys Duck and Goose hunting. Laying on the ground way before layout blinds. Wearing insulated coveralls and long johns and hooded sweatshirt. And the only thing that got cold were my feet. Or setting in a tree while standing on a limb with coveralls and not getting cold. All the old timers wore the same thing. I guess we were just to dumb or tough to get cold or we weren't a bunch of pussies.

The nice stuff is nice. High quality. The crappy part is there really isn’t a mid range in hunting clothing. Anything lower end is generally China junk.

With the prices sale shopping is the way to go. KUIU has a once a year sale. Other stuff you can find here and there. For underlayer and mid layer, you can find a lot more reasonable options looking at hiking/backpacking brands than hunting brands. But if you want the fancy camo you’ll definitely pay for it.

There’s certainly a difference between my old reversible goose coveralls and my more modern gear. I killed way more in the coveralls though!

And you weren’t looking at Sitka stuff it didn’t sound like. Good thing or they would have had to jump start your heart
