Just curious on the Sylvan viper boats?? I see they quit making fishing boats after 2014.

Anyone have any comments or concerns?

Thanks

I have a 2004 that I bought from my uncle. Haven’t had any issues with it.

For the money they are probably one of the best bangs for the buck, if you can find a good deal on a clean one you will be happy with it.
I've cut allot of holes in sparkly boats for rod holders and I have never cut through thicker fiberglass than a darn viper. Sturdy boats and a nice big rear live well. If you get an 04 or above you get a front rod locker witch is really nice to have along with the rod storage on the sides. Been in one many days on sak and never felt afraid at all with it and I have a 20 ft ranger now.

I have a 2001 bought it used last year mine has a 100 hp Yamaha four stroke on it . It’s not a speed demon by any means but it cruises at about 38 mph which is fast enough for me. Boat seems to ride decent and for the price I paid I don’t think I can go wrong. I’m not sure that I could have picked up an aluminum boat with same motor for what I paid for this one.

That's the thing to a 150 yammi or 140 Suzuki 135 opti will get it around just fine. But the boat can take a 175 and the one I was in really liked that motor but not many put them on the back back then, to bad. But there wasn't much to choose from either.

Do you know how big the rod locker is on one?

Thanks everyone I was just concerned because they aren't being made anymore if that would be a problem in the future??! In think most boat parts are kinda universal and sounds like there fibergalss design it pretty sturdy.
